| 2009 Award Ceremony This year's presentation dinner was a success with over 140 industry guests. The night celebrated the success and contribution of the young baking apprentices who competed in this year's event. The winner of this year's LA Judge Award for Baking Apprentice of the Year was Jennifer Benbow from Bakers Delight Lindisfarne, Tasmania. Jennifer has won $3,500 towards an international study tour of her choice. This is a great reward for Jennifer's hard work and a wonderful opportunity to further develop her skills. This is the first time in 42 years of competition that Tasmania has won the LA Judge Award, and breaks the recent dominance of Western Australia. It is only the third time a woman has the award. It also establishes an interesting trend, as it is the third time in the last four years that a woman has won.
